Get Smart Trailer

Go to io9 for the new Get Smart trailer. It doesn’t appear to be on YT yet, so I can’t embed it, but it’s worth checking out.

It looks as funny as it needs to be to put my butt in the seat. I was a HUGE fan of the TV series and Steve-o is perfect for the role. Alan Arkin as the Chief is awesome AND it has the Rock in it. I do feel slightly creepy in finding Anne Hathaway so hot since I still identify her from The Princess Diaries (yes I saw it, shut up), but I think I can suck it up. She’s not as hot as Barbara Feldon was, but those boyhood crushes can be powerful things. Oh and for the record I was, am, and ever shall be a Mary Ann man.

What childhood TV series have they not yet “reimagined” that you’d like to see? And who should be in it?

    Strangely I don’t want to think about what gets remade by Hollywood. Usually when they do a remake, it turns out horrible to fans of the older series.
    Although, it looks like the Get Smart remake, might not be that bad. The only thing I miss, is Don Adams voice. There was just something about it, that seemed to fit the character.
    Hearing Steve Carell saying he missed it by that much just seems strange. But I guess I’ll live with it.

    Lyndon – I’m not a big fan of the remake, but surely they’ll get one or two right and with interesting results. And you’re right about Don.

    Scotty, I met Anne Hathaway one evening in a brief and distasteful encounter in Mel’s Drive-In on Ventura Blvd. She’s a hotty, but it kind of all goes by the wayside with snooty biatches who seem to think they’re all that.
    It’s been a few years – maybe she was just having a bad night, and she’s really quite nice. But any film with her in it is lessened as I think back to that encounter. I’m sure she doesn’t even remember it.
