Blue Eggs n Ham?

We have a HUGE growth of Confederate Jasmine on the railing of our front steps. We almost never use our front door as we park out back. As a result, this bird evidently felt good about building a nest there. Cool opportunity for some nature observation.

That’s cool. Last year we had a robin build a nest right on the platform of our swing set. Not very sheltered at all. We had 4 blue eggs, but only 2-3 of the chicks made it I think. As they grew, it was neat to watch momma and papa robin protecting the nest. If a black bird landed on the fence nearby, or if I mowed the grass, they’d swoop by chirping warnings. They chased off quite a few larger birds.

    Rhodester – :-P
Doug – We have three eggs now. Momma (Daddy?) is pretty protective.
