  • Good to know that some things don't change!
  • man of badly done impressions.
Spell check for firefox is ok. Grammar check? Maybe 3.0
  • Yes, I can still do Randy Savage AKA the Macho Man. I can also do Razor Ramone (now retired). Lenny from Motorhead, a passing Zach de la Rocha (formerly of Rage Against the Machine), Kermit the Frog, Yoda (do or do not, there is no try), and just about any other muppet. (Remember the guy with the boomerang fish? His name is Lew Zealand and I can do him, too.)
I can no longer do Axl Rose's singing voice. I can't do the theme from Phantom of the Opera (That was a disaster in high school.) I can't do James Earl Jones or Barry White. Unfortunately, I can do Eric Cartmen.
Many of many badly done impressions, that's me.
DID SOMEONE CALL FOR A BOOMERANG FISH?!?!?
  • Glad I could help you start off your day with both a laugh and a little enlightenment! ;-)

    Hey Scott,
"And skirting cheesy statements is not a talent, but rather a WELL honed skill. I got mad, MAD skills yo."
I nearly spit out my mini wheats laughing at that!
You very neatly answered my questions. Thanks. You see being in heaven as a binary thing; one is either there, or not, but never closer nor further from it when not there. I also recognize that the religious have perfectly legitimate reasons for hanging around earth. "Doing God's will" is one obvious reason.
  • "A little, but not bad. Is that your special talent, skirting cheesy statement ;) Mine is that thing people do with their hands where their fingers are interlocked, but the middle fingers protrude opposite each other and wiggle in time."
A good talent that. I can roll my tongue, but that's not as rare as I thought. And skirting cheesy statements is not a talent, but rather a WELL honed skill. I got mad, MAD skills yo.
"Your response leads me down an interesting train of questions: Wouldn't you be closest to your eternal home if you were on deaths door? Wouldn't you then want to be as far from 'home' as you can possibly be? I'm sure there are things you want to finish here first, like raising your kids."
Sid, Sid, Sid, you and your questions. ;-)
Since heaven is one of those places you can't get to from here I'd say no. At death's door I'd be no closer save perhaps temporally. Of course that's probably what you meant. And at the point of death I suppose the method, by which I was shaking off this coil, would dictate my feelings to a certain extent. That and my age. But all in all, I can answer what I think is the spirit of your questions.
I've heard folks of your persuasion wonder why we aren't in a hurry to leave for heaven since it's so cool. And I've also heard questions like this, why would you want to leave your family behind? I believe that when I go, it will be when God wants me to. If that happens to mean that I'll get hit by the proverbial Greyhound tomorrow then yes I suppose that would be a bad thing for my family. I've taken what steps I can to ensure that they're taken care of both in this life and the next. They'll mourn and they'll heal and that's assuming I don't go last. Beyond that I can't do much. It won't be so bad for me as I can only hope that they'll be joining me soon enough. Either way raising your kids is something that never stops. My Mom has made sure to let me know that she still learns from her Dad and I know she teaches me, if that's not "raising" then I don't know what is.
    How's that?

"43. What is the farthest you have been from home?

  • The first time I caught the last half when I got home from work. I watched it all the way through by myself later that night and then watched it again the next day with the kids. I thought it was really good, but then it is Pixar and yeah the car-ized movies were great.
I was also a big fan of Frosted Flakes and Lucky Charms as a kid but these days I rarely do cereal,
  • MCF
Cars was good. Not 2.5 times good, but you do have kids, and I'm remembering a visit with some friends with kids last week that resulted in us catching the Incredibles over and over again. :) I did like the bit in the credits where the automobilize the other Pixar films. Ratzenberger was awesome there.
I forgot cinnamon life. It's one of the few "turn the milk sugary" cereals that I can eat in vast quantities. I haven't had any in years. I should get some. Yes, I really do need to go get a Life. ;)
