A Few of My Favorite Things - digg this

Janet wants to know what some of our favorite things are. No longer being sick ranks right up there, but she got specific. I like that, so here you go.

Favorite Food - Hands down, my wife's lasgna. Growing up I was a fan of Garfield and he and I see eye to eye on this. Cheese, sauce, and pasta piled in mountains of mouth-watering mellifluousness. I bought her a lasagna pan one year that was actually too big to fit in our apartment's smallish oven. We had to finish it off at our church.

Favorite Movie - Wow, this one's a toughy. Sorro said that his is The 'Burbs. Choice pick that. I'll have to go older school for mine. I'm going to say The Quiet Man. I love John Wayne. I love Ireland. A guy from my church says that there are still parts of Ireland that are like that. I think it's what heaven is like. It's a movie I can just pop in and enjoy. So yeah, The Quiet Man... or Cool Hand Luke...

Favorite Drink - Sweet tea. I wasn't born in the south, but I've been in North Carolina most of my life. Here we do sweet tea. Sometimes it's too sweet. My wife makes it too sweet, but I drink it anyway. There is absolutely nothing better after mowing the lawn than a quart of well iced sweet tea, water beading on the sides of the glass. And keep your dang lemon!

Favorite Bands/Songs - Well this isn't narrow at all. Not for me anyway. I have pretty broad tastes, though as I've said in the past I tend to get stuck in retro mode. This is actually way harder than the movie question. Got to give this one more thought, perhaps a post of its own.

Favorite Memory - As I posted recently, memory is a tricky thing. There's a good podcast that I listen to called Radio Lab and they did a 'cast on memory that you should listen to. I could say something like, the birth of my children, but then I'd have to pick one. I could say my wedding, but there are things about that day I'd rather not remember. So I think I'll pick the time when my wife and I first kissed and that's all I have to say about that.

Favorite TV Show - MASH. It has it all and then some. I'm gradually getting all of the episodes on DVD. It was hard not to pick something more genre-y like Star Trek, but the writing, acting and stories are just so freaking great. My current favorite might just be Lost, which I'm catching up on via ABC's website (thansk Ben!). I'm still in season one, but I get the hype.

Favorite ??? - The open category... Well I enjoy a lot of things and most of those things are based around the web. So I'll add my current favorite webcomic and podcast. Those would be Schlock, a space opera, and Playing For Keeps, a podcast novel by Mur Lafferty.
