Star Trek The Tour - digg this

Okay this is a little bit of Uber-Geekery. Star Trek The Tour, coming to a city near you? It's only coming as close as Charlotte/Raleigh for me. What is it? It's "a 50,000 square foot interactive tribute to the Star Trek 40-year-plus cultural phenomenon will be on tour". About thirty bucks a pop gets you opportunities like:

THE MUSEUM SPACE Here all Star Trek's worlds "collide" under one magnificent soaring roof. Each corner turned reveals still another of hundreds of Star Trek icons, these are the smaller sets, ornate costumes and familiar props in the STAR TREK THE TOUR Collection. It is a truly priceless collection and is curated as professionally and completely as that of any great museum. The collection before you is considered the most complete and authentic collection of Star Trek items in existence — and that's anywhere in the Galaxy.

Oh and you can totally sit in Kirk's chair and get your picture taken.

Pinakidion and I went to a similar thing once in DC. We each sat in Kirk's chair. Unfortunately, we lost the camera before the photos were developed so we have no proof. Yet it really happened. Or maybe it was only a dream. Who knows. But I have memories of it. My sweet precious true memories. What was that? Just leave me alone with my memories please. You horrible, horrible man.

Yay! It's coming to Tulsa!

You think it's worth 30 bucks though?

I'm not sure, but it makes me happy to see Tulsa hosting something other than Toby Keith or Hanson concerts.

I thought your people liked Hanson.
