The Right Track - digg this

I got this meme from MCF who got it from here.

1. Go here: http://www.careercruising.com/default.asp
2. Put in Username: nycareers, Password: landmark.
3. Take their "Career Matchmaker" questions.
4. Post the top results.

I've always felt like the jobs I've had have been more out of necessity than choice. The results really weren't all that surprising. In some ways I'm in the right field, but there are other things that I could be doing that I'd enjoy as much or more.

Motivational Speaker is 6 for you? Was that expected? I definitely understand the rest.

Here are my top 15:

1 Biomedical Engineer
2 Computer Engineer
3 Electrical Engineer
4 Agricultural Engineer
5 Oceanographer
6 Environmental Engineer
7 Chemical Engineer
8 Hydrologist / Hydrogeologist
9 Mechanical Engineer

Clearly, I'm in the wrong career (financial analytics), but I knew that. One last thought: Horse Trainer?!?

Yeah Motivational Speaker actually does make a little sense. I love to talk in front of crowds. I've done my fair share of it in teaching and preaching. I don't much care for what the usual MS has to say, but I get the connection given how I answered the questions (see also 2,4, and 16).

Oh and I don't want to know about your equine love. ;-)

KB - Sounds like you're in the right place!

Pink - Now that's some diversity. I did notice that when I took it there were a several things that I would like to do, but as I have no training in those areas, I'd be incompetent. For instance my minor in psychology would be far from adequate training on my results for 13, 14, 28, or 39. So that whole small engine thing might make sense if you're a tinkerer. And just so's you know at least one person would remember, knowledge of small engines, would that have come in handy when you were adrift?

Pat - Well you have a pretty analytical brain pan, so I'm guessing no surprise?
