Iiiit's Movie Time - digg this
Okay so my beloved, dearest, darling wife is talking our adorable, little munchkins to the beach for several days. This means that it's time to play catch up. Help me pick five movies to see on DVD.
Ground rules:
All must be readily available on DVD from a major rental chain.
Four must have been made in the last five years. The fifth can be from any decade. I want to catch up on recent flicks, but am not adverse to seeing a classic I may have missed.
If possible pick one from each of the following genres: Horror, Sci-fi, Comedy, Action, Other. Not a must, but I gotta make this a challenge.
Help a brutha out!

Total Number of Comments: 10
Wasabi with Jean Reno.
Meh. Wasabi was mediocre.
The Notorious Bettie Page (I think you'll appreciate the spirituality in this) - Other
The Insider - Action/Suspense/Heist
Zero Effect - 1998 Comedy
Bubba Ho-tep - (Bruce Campbell Comedy/Horror)
The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra - Sci-fi (2004 classic)
House of 1000 Corpses - Horror
If you've seen Corpses, The Devil's Rejects is the follow-up.
I saw Lost Skeleton on Sci-fi I believe. Haven't seen any of the rest.
I'm a Classic girl myself. Have you seen The Philadelphia Story? (Comedy with insight and romance) Or how about Arsenic and Old Lace which is comedy with a touch of horror.
I'm not really any help on recent movies. I saw LOTR, Curious George, Cars, Narnia, and Facing the Giants... That's it for films from the last five years.
I'm a fan of the oldies, but haven't seen either of those (at least not that I remember).
We just saw FtG at a friend's church and all things considered it was pretty good.
Hope I'mnot too late:
Hard Candy
The Fastest Indian
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
Waiting
Nightwatch (Daywatch comes out this summer)
Not at all. Excellent suggestions. Hard Candy is one that peaked my interest as did Indian and Nightwatch.
Any word on these or your choices yet?
I watched Crank last night and I have Hard Candy on the shelf. I'm thinking about Betty Page and Children of Men if they're in when I take these two back.
Thoughts on Crank after a while.
