Louisiana Travelogue Pt. 1 - digg this
After a rather uneventful flight to Louisiana (most of which was spent reading Tishimingo Blues by Elmore Leonard) I decided that I really needed to swing by the French Quarter for just a bit since I landed in NO. I intend to spend a few hours there on Tuesday night so this was just a quicky. Of course I didn't realize that there was a Saints home game, so downtown was PACKED. Hit the link for some pics.
If you enjoyed this entry subscribe to this blog by email or feed readerOf course the first place I stopped was a used bookstore.
The architecture was fabulous of course and I snapped this because I loved the mix of old and new.
I found the House of Blues, which is one spot I want to hit on Tuesday. They're closed on Sunday.
I got this snap of an old fire station.
Of course all this walking and snapping made me thirsty.
Once I was done and got back to my car I drove to Baton Rouge. It was about an hour drive through some beautiful wetlands. My room is decent. Free wifi and cable combined with a cute kitchenette will make this situation livable for a few days. Tomorrow I go to our site in St. Gabriel. I look forward to it and tomorrow night I'll poke around BR and see what's what.
Cheers!

Those are some great pics. Be careful in the FQ at night though -- keep that head on a swivel, my friend.
Thanks! Not spending any time there much after dark you can trust that.
